Winemaking
"Highlighting the personality ofthe Numanthia’s wines"
Winemaking
While many different skills are required to elaborate a wine that captures the essence of its terroir, the winemaker’s role is inevitably key. At Numanthia we share the same dream, the quest towards excellence, from the vineyards to the bottle; then the chief winemaker becomes the conductor of an orchestra. His task is to ensure that each instrument plays its part, coordinating the individual melodies so that they combine into an overarching harmony that transcends each musician’s contribution.
The Tinta de Toro grape serves as the musical score. Manuel Louzada works closely with the vineyard manager to bring the vines to their peak at harvest time, and once the wines are made and ready for ageing, he confers with the cellar manager who watches over their progress toward maturity. At the final blending, Manuel’s winemaking skills highlight the vibrant fruit of youthful Termes, the power and depth of the estate signature, Numanthia, and Termanthia’s handcrafted complexity. Each wine is the result of a collective harmony to achieve symphonic excellence.
